Medley-Avalon style development coming to Johns Creek

Johns Creek soon will be getting its own Avalon-style shopping mall called Medley.

The team who help redevelop Avalon, Midtown's Colony Square, and Atlantic Station has set its sights on redeveloping the old State Farm campus located at the intersection of McGinnis Ferry Rd and Johns Creek Pkwy. Toro Development Company, plans a $350 million mix-used project on the 43-acre property.

The project, as well as the greater Town Center, will be transformative for Johns Creek residents and create the best parts of urban living in a suburban setting — walkability, restaurants and entertainment. Preliminary plans for the redevelopment include 200,000 square feet of space for retail, restaurants, and entertainment concepts; 900 residential units (a mix of townhomes and luxury multifamily homes); and 110,000 square feet of office space, all connected with the larger Town Center. Medley will play host to more than 100 community events annually and focus on tenants that create vibrancy. This will not be Avalon 2.0, but it will have some of those same pieces and parts.

Unlike surrounding suburbs, Johns Creek has never had a true downtown. The redevelopment could change that and complement the city's long-term plan to create a city center. Medley’s development is expected to kickstart that vision for a new town center, which will eventually span 192 acres.
